Dies from Lou Gehrig's Disease

Timothy Mark Jackson of Longmont died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1997, at Longmont United Hospital of complications from Lou Gehrig's disease. He was 48.

Mr. Jackson owned and operated Mini-Parts House in Longmont for 10 ears. He also served in the U.S. Army from January, 1969 through January, 1971, during which time he served one year in Vietnam. He was an active member of the Moose Lodge 1548. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, ride motorcycles and scuba dive.

Born Feb. 11, 1948, in Longmont, he was the son of Amos M. Jackson and Deloris Meis Jackson. He graduated from Longmont High School in 1966 and studied liberal arts at Metro State in Denver.

Mr. Jackson was receded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother of Longmont; his fiance, Linda Fields of Longmont; one brother, Gregory Jackson and his wife, Jeanne, of Longmont; three uncles, Jim Meis and his wife, Shirley, of Elgin, Neb., Bob Meisa and his wife, Mary Lou, of Peoria, Ill., and Bill Meis and his wife, Jo, of Marshfield, Wis.; two aunts, Jane Reed and her husband, Wayne, of Denver, and Doris Basnett and her husband, Keith, of Windsor, Kristi Jackson of Windsor and Kelli Jackson of Longmont.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Longmont Moose Lodge 1548, with Deacon William Lee of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2601. Services will conclude at the lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Timothy Jackson Memorial Fund to benefit ALS research in care of Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont 80501
