NAPPLE, Steve L., 52, of Longmont, passed away Oct. 27, 2003, at Longmont United Hospital. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. Visitation also prior to funeral service. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation to follow services at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

Steve L. Napple of Longmont died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Longmont United Hospital. He was 52. He was born May 17, 1951, in Denver to Arnold W. and Betty L. (Nielson) Napple.

Mr. Napple grew up in Longmont and attended Longmont High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged.

Mr. Napple returned to Colorado following his discharge and, after living in Lafayette for a few years, returned to Longmont where he had lived since.
He was a welder and carpenter and worked for several years for Boulder Steel.

Mr. Napple was an avid motorcyclist, having rebuilt his own Harley-Davidson. He enjoyed time with his son, fishing and camping.

He is survived by a son, Kyle Erin Napple of Denver; his parents of Longmont; a brother, Dale W. Napple and his wife Pamela of Louisville; two sisters, Sharon Dowell and her husband Jimmie of Round Rock, Texas, and Stacie Napple of Fort Lupton; three nephews, Ronnie, Ricky and Randy Dowell; a great-nephew, Mathew Dowell; and a very close friend, Dave Shelley of Longmont.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. Visitation will also be held prior to the funeral service.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow services at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.
