ROMERO, Rudolph, 61, of Longmont, passed away as the result of a drowning accident in Red Feather Lakes. Visitation 3 to 8 p.m. with rosary prayers 7 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Cremation to follow services at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. May 19, 1942 — July 10, 2003 Rudolph Romero of Longmont died Thursday, July 10, 2003, as the result of a fishing accident at Red Feather Lakes. He was 61. Mr. Romero was born May 19, 1942, to Thomas Romero Sr. and Clemencia (Duran) Romero in Boulder. The family moved from Boulder to Longmont in the 1950s. Mr. Romero graduated from Longmont High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 until 1970. He worked for Lockheed Martin from 1979 until he retired in 1996. Mr. Romero was a Catholic and a member of American Legion Post 32 in Longmont. He enjoyed fishing. Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Romero; and a sister, Ruth Romero. He is survived by his significant other, Agnes Olivias of Longmont; a son, Luis Romero and his wife Genevieve; seven brothers; four sisters; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with rosary prayers at 7 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Cremation will follow services at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
