Larry Bruce Eckstine of Bonham, Texas, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at his home. He was 53.

He was born December 21, 1947, in Steamboat Spring, the son of Jack O. and Verna LaVonne Blake Eckstine.

A 1965 graduate of Longmont High School, Mr. Eckstine worked in construction on an offshore oil rig. He also served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was of Catholic faith.

He is survived by his parents of Corpus Christi, Texas, a brother, Michael Eckstine of Colorado; a sister, Patricia Jo Derr of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, June 2, at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham, with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating.

Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home of Bonham is in charge of arrangements.
