John Thomas “Tom” MARR
of Broomfield formerly Longmont, died August 1, 2007 in Denver. He
was 55.
Tom
was born on December 28, 1951 in Providence, Rhode Island to John
Hobart Marr and Agnes Donahue Marr. The Marrs moved to Longmont in
1952. Tom attended Longmont schools, graduating from Longmont High
School in 1971. He was a talented musician, playing in local bands
for a number of years. Joined and served 4 years in the U.S. Air
Force before receiving his honorable discharge.
He
married Debbie Foster on June 1, 2003 in Denver.
Tom
was an electrician, working for Sturgeon Electric. He was a member
of the IBEW Local 68.
Passionate about many things, Tom loved music, art, and automobiles.
He enjoyed making his house his home and spent many hours
landscaping his yard and building decks that were intricate and
detailed for spending time with family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his wife Debbie of Broomfield, a daughter Andrea
Harroun and her husband Joe of Kimball, Nebraska, three
grandchildren Tyler, Paycen, and Jazlyn of Kimball, Nebraska; two
sisters Regina Cheyney and her husband Ron of Longmont, Deborah Kay
Kimbrough of Denver, three brothers Dave Marr and his wife Wendy of
Longmont, Michael Marr and his wife Rosemarie of Longmont, and Gary
Marr and his wife Laurell of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; and many other
family members that have been blessed with his presence in their
lives.
A
visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August
6, at the Howe Mortuary.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 7 at the Howe
Mortuary Chapel, with officiating. In the Spirit of Tom, casual
attire is welcome.
Interment will follow at the Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
