David L. Young of Uncasville, Conn., died on Sunday, June 9, 1991, at his home as the result of a heart attack. He was 42.

Born on March 15, 1949, in Glenwood, Minn., he was the son of Floyd Young and Beverly Engebretson Young. In 1958, Mr. Young moved to Longmont, graduating from Longmont High School in 1967.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

On Nov. 19, 1970, in Longmont, he and Colleen Mulligen were married. Mr. Young worked for Mashantuket Pequot Indian Reservation as a construction worker. In 1987, the couple moved from Longmont to Connecticut.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife; one son, Christopher Young; and one daughter, Erin Young, all of Uncasville, Conn.; his mother of Longmont; two brothers, Larry Young and wife, Terry, of Longmont, and Brad Young and wife, of Niantic, Conn.; two sisters, Linda Petitt of Berthoud, and Sandy Young of Santa Fe, N.M.; his maternal grandmother, Mabel Engebretson of Morris, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, June 21, at the First Congregational Church Chapel, Ninth Avenue.
