PAUL DAVID RODRIGUEZ MEMORIAL American Legion Post #32 (Longmont) joined with the Hispanic Education Foundation (HEF - a local nonprofit organization that raises funds to establish scholarships for local youths interested in pursuing a college degree) and created the PAUL DAVID RODRIGUEZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. This $1,000.00 scholarship is intended to be awarded annually to a local youth in honor of Paul Rodriguez, a local youth who was killed in Vietnam. An interesting twist of fate is that Paul attended but did not graduate from Longmont High School and now funds given in his name are assisting students to gain a college degree. Paul's picture is also memorialized on the Veteran's Memorial mural at Longs Peak Middle School.
