"PLANNING ONE HUGE REUNION"

Planning for what could be "one huge reunion" to bring members of all graduating classes of Longmont High School together for a reunion in August, 2005, continues this week with a planning meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the offices of Coldwell Banker Preferred Realty, 601 S. Bowen St, Longmont

Two LHS Class of 1969  graduates, Tim Hipsher and Rod Carlson, are organizing the reunion. They invite anyone interested in helping to attend this and future planning meetings. They are especially interested in hearing from committees who have worked on their own LHS reunions with the hope that they will know how best to contact their classmates.

Hipsher and Carlson, both athletes in high school, have maintained their ties to LHS through the years.

"I've always wanted other classes to attend because I know so many people in town and so does Rod," said Hipsher, 52, an air traffic controller. Carlson is sales manager at Coldwell Banker in Longmont.

So far, only preliminary decisions on the reunion have been made.

"We haven't found anybody who is not interested. It is awesome to be around all those different classes. We have so many good friends from many different years, that's why we've always wanted to do this. All we're trying to do is have a good time. that's the whole thought behind it," said Hipsher, who added he has already heard from a 1956 graduate who lives in Phoenix.
