Mary Lou MARTINEZ passed away on May 17, 2010, at the age of 62. Mary Lou was born on July 27, 1947, in Longmont to Martin and Martha Mata of Frederick. She attended Longmont High School
(graduated Longmont High Class of 1965) and met Leonard
Martinez. They became high school sweethearts and were married on May 21, 1966. Their marriage of almost 44 years has been full of love and adventure.
Mary Lou was an active tennis player and an accomplished runner, including being one of Bolder Boulder’s Boldest. She will be remembered for her tender nature, selfless personality, devotion to her marriage and true friendship.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Leonard; daughter Kristina; son Matt; mother Martha; sister Carmen; brothers George and Marty; and her four grandchildren, of whom she was very proud: Janelle, Joseph, Cortez and
Carly.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. today, followed by Recitation of the Rosary, all at
Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Longmont.
