Irene
Esperanza OLVERA
of Longmont,
Colo., died Oct. 11 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 60.
Irene was born Aug. 13, 1947 in Longmont, Colo. to
Manuel and Abelina (Martinez) Archuleta. She grew up and attended school
in
Longmont
(Class of 1965). Irene married Roberto Olvera in New Mexico Dec.
12, 1972. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Irene was a supervisor for several years at
Longmont Foods and then worked for 10 years as a production worker for
AMF Head. She then took classes to develop clerical skills and began
work in data entry for Neo Data in Longmont for six years before she
retired due to disabilities. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family
and went on walks and had picnics with them. She also enjoyed gardening
and especially being with her two granddaughters.
Her parents, a brother, Anthony Archuleta and a
sister, Margaret Garcia, preceded Irene in death. She is survived by her
husband, Roberto; a son, Robert Olvera of Longmont; a daughter, Victoria
Cornelius and her husband Charles of Longmont; three sisters: Anita
Martinez and her husband Max, Grace Martinez and her husband Fred and
Rose Escalante and her husband Jose, all of Longmont; two
granddaughters: Brooke and Lynne Cornelius; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 15 at Howe
Mortuary from noon to 7 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7 p.m.
on Monday at the mortuary with Deacon Mike Berens as leader. Mass of
Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Hernan Florez as
celebrant. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
