October 2, 1909 — March 6, 2006 Hazel G. Mrs. Sack was born Oct. 2, 1909, to Ira A. and Myra (Burnett) Cole in Sharon Springs, Kan. In 1918, she moved to Boulder from Kansas in a covered wagon. She graduated from Boulder High School and then attended the University of Colorado for one year. She then taught school near Haxtun, Colo. On April 6, 1930, she married Roy Sack in Haxtun. In 1941, they moved to Longmont, where she taught at Nelson School and was a substitute teacher at Longmont High School. Mrs. Sack was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church for 65 years and taught children’s church for 25 years. She liked to quilt and write poems. Mrs. Sack was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by four sons, Floyd M. Sack of Littleton, R. Wendell Sack and his wife Marilyn of Washington, Kan., Stanley H. Sack and his wife Ruth of Colorado Springs and Sherman D. Sack and his wife Mavis of Newton, Kan.; two daughters, Thelma G. Snell and her husband Richard of Loveland and Sharon A. Karlstrum of Arvada; two sisters, Helene Yost of Haxtun and Rose Shepard of Boulder; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, March 9, at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, at LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Ute Highway, with Russ McCracken of Southeast Christian Church and David Bradshaw of LifeBridge Christian Church officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeBridge Christian Church in care of Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel.
