Freida L. She was born April 16, 1919, in Sullivan, Colorado, to Jacob and Mary (Koch) Litzenberger. Her family farmed in the Longmont area, and Freida attended Burlington School and later Culver School. Freida married Clarence Gomer on August 17, 1942, in Fort Collins. She was a homemaker and also worked for the St.Vrain Valley School District. Freida was a founding member of the German Congregational Church in Longmont and later joined First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was very active in church activities. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and homemaking. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 9, 1968; her parents; her brothers, Jake, Alvin and Henry Litzenberger; and her sisters, Pauline Befus, Amelia Hoffman and Helen Spruiell. Survivors include her brother, Leonard Litzenberger (Mary Ellen) of Mead; a brother-in-law, Jack Spruiell of San Jose, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 12 noon Monday, June 8, at Lanyon Chapel at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1500 Ninth Ave. in Longmont, with Rev. Rick King officiating. Private interment Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
