Barbara and Bernard Lewis of Longmont will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 1996, at Callahan House, 312 Terry St. in Longmont. Friends and family are encouraged to attend. The couple requests no gifts please. Barbara Mae Allen married LeRoy Bernard Lewis on April 9, 1946, in McLeansboro, Ill., and moved to Longmont in January, 1950. Bernard was employed as a general contractor until his retirement in 1982. Barbara was employed as a hair stylist and did custom sewing and alterations. Currently, both are self-employed in a machine quilting business. The couple has three sons, Jerry Lewis and his wife, Susan, of LaMoille, Ill., Don Lewis and his wife Cindy of Longmont, Pat Lewis of Longmont; two daughters, the late Sharon Lewis Davidson, Sandy Bergman and her husband Larry of Longmont; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
