Roland Elmer STRASHEIM

Roland Elmer STRASHEIM
, 87, formerly of Longmont passed away on April 4, 2008, at The
Villas at Sunny Acres in Thornton. He was born on September 9, 1920,
in Berthoud to Jake and Mary Hoff Strasheim. He married Martha Erbes
on August 22, 1945.
Roland
served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945, serving most of
his enlistment in the Persian Gulf area. He farmed in the Berthoud
area for many years then worked in the construction business laying
gas lines.
Roland
was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was also an active member of
the American Legion Post 32.
Roland
is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Pat Fagler and her
husband Ken; and one granddaughter, Robin Fagler.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at First Congregational
United Church of Christ followed by a service at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory with full
military honors by the American Legion Post 32 of Longmont. In lieu
of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to a charity

Martha STRASHEIM
, 85, longtime Longmont resident, passed away on May 27 at
St. Anthony’s North Hospital. She was born April 15, 1923,
in Windsor, Colorado, to John Erbes and Elizabeth (Kaiser)
Erbes. Martha married Roland Strasheim on August 22, 1945,
in Berthoud.
Martha was an incredible cook and loved to bake. She
enjoyed gardening and sewing. Martha had a great sense of
humor and loved her family and friends. She was a member of
First Congregational Church of Christ.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Roland
Strasheim; three brothers, John, Ray and Sam Erbes; and two
sisters, Katherine Erbes and Marie Hergenreder.
Martha is survived by her daughter,
Pat Fagler and husband, Ken; one brother, Karl Erbes
of Windsor; one sister, Agnes Yost of Fort Collins; one
granddaughter, Robin Fagler; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June
3, 2008, at First Congregational United Church of Christ,
followed by an interment at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
