Lawrence 'Larry' JamesLEE of Frederick, CO, passed away at his home on July 8, 2008. He was 65.

Larry was born September 29, 1942, in Longmont, CO, to Louis H. and Lucy D. (Vick) Lee. He grew up in the Longmont area and graduated from Mead High School. Larry entered the United States Army in 1964 and served for two years. He then served in the reserves for four years.

Larry married Diane Kay Richards in Longmont on September 17, 1966. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of the Frederick Knights of Columbus. Larry worked for Rocky Flats for 42 years and was a construction manager when he retired in 2005.

Larry enjoyed being with his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, going camping and boating, and taking care of his lawn and garden. He also enjoyed sitting on the back porch of his home smoking a cigar and looking at his mountain view.

His parents preceded Mr. Lee in death. He is survived by his wife, Diane of Frederick; a son, Richard Lee and his wife, Valarie of Mantua, N.J.; a daughter, Laurie Lee of Longmont; four grandchildren: Brittany, Zachery, Brendan and Austin; two brothers: Louis Lee and his wife, Darlene and John Roger Lee and his wife, Sharie, both of Longmont; five sisters: Betty Morgan and her husband, Jim of Buena Vista, CO; Bobbie Clark and her husband, Norman; Margaret Ann Van Thyne and her husband, Jules; Mary Lou Tallman and her husband, Kenneth; and Cathy Weaver and her husband, Jack; all of Longmont. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, at Howe Mortuary from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, at Howe Mortuary at 10:00 a.m., with Mike Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, with military honors by representatives of the United States Army.
