Leoma
KORTE
was born on a farm in Western Kansas on November 14,
1921.
She graduated from Rexford High School.
She was the only child of Leo and Lena Thieler. She
married Fred B. Korte in 1939. The happy couple moved to
Colorado, where Fred worked at Gates Rubber Company
during WWII. Given a wonderful opportunity, they moved
to Longmont, Colorado, in 1945. Fred was a successful
businessman, and Leoma did community service in her Beta
Sigma Phi Sorority and helped at the local hospital as a
Pink Lady. They also supported various local charities
and were member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Leoma died Sunday, January 4, 2009. Leoma
died after a lengthy illness from which she suffered for
nearly 20 years.
Fred and Leoma are survived by their only
daughter, Cynthia Korte,
who lives in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Leoma will be
buried next to Fred in Longmont, Colorado.
There is a service at Foothills Gardens
of Memory on Friday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m., St. Johns
Catholic Church, Deacon Bob. |
